FOL Blog Series: Performance Rewritten

For a long time, patients believed they had two choices: live with the pain or go under the knife. Niko Miles has spent his career expanding what's in between.

Niko is Co-Founder and Director of Operations at NeoGenix, a regenerative medicine clinic offering stem cell and PRP therapy as natural, non-surgical pathways to healing. We spoke with him about what he sees every day across patients dealing with pain, injury, and the question of what to do next.
The rules patients thought they had to follow have changed.

Severe arthritis. A tearing rotator cuff. A knee that's been bothering you for months. Not long ago, the answer to all of those was the same: surgery. That was the path, and most patients accepted it.

Regenerative medicine has rewritten that script. Stem cell and PRP therapy now offer a way for the body to heal naturally, without surgery, without medication, and without downtime. Niko's role at NeoGenix is to make sure patients understand that option exists before they assume it doesn't.

"Surgery is still a viable option, but it should be a last resort in most cases. Regenerative medicine has changed all the rules patients thought they had to follow when an injury or wear and tear occurs."

The most common mistake is also the most preventable.

Across the patients Niko sees, one pattern repeats more than any other. People wait. A knee starts to ache on walks. A shoulder protests during a workout. The hope is that it'll settle down on its own. Sometimes a quick fix masks it for a while. And then months pass.

"If you are in pain or discomfort and it does not go away on its own, that means your injury is chronic. If you have a chronic injury, you must do treatment of some sort or it will not heal."

The window for proactive care doesn't stay open indefinitely. Waiting for a problem to resolve itself when it's already chronic isn't patience. It's a delay that makes everything harder.

Patients want more than a rushed appointment. And they're starting to demand it.

Niko points to a broader shift happening across healthcare. Concierge medicine is growing. Patients are moving away from transactional, 15-minute appointments toward relationships where they actually feel heard. They want time with their providers. They want to understand what's happening in their bodies and why.

That shift is part of what NeoGenix is built around. The experience inside the clinic matters as much as the treatment itself.

Where natural supplements fit into the picture.

Niko is direct about steroids and pharmaceutical pain management. Steroids carry real risks. Medications carry real dependency potential. For patients beginning to experience pain or discomfort, he believes CBD and natural supplements should now be the first line of consideration, not an afterthought.

"CBD and other natural supplements should be taking the place of addictive medications and harmful steroid injections as a first choice. They're also great additions to stem cell and PRP treatments during post-procedure recovery."

The logic is straightforward: give the body what it needs to manage inflammation and soreness naturally, and the more advanced therapies have a better environment to do their work.

Patients are asking different questions now. Not just "what do I do about this pain" but "what are all my options before I commit to something I can't undo." Niko Miles is building a practice around making sure they get a real answer.
